We offer producers of Cornish food and drink the facility to sell through this site but unlike our general listings there is a charge for this service.

There are many advantages to using the Food From Cornwall website: for producers who do not have a website, our "Gateway" service creates a mini website within our own giving additional promotional opportunities and providing a point of reference for potential customers; and for those who already have a website we offer economic access to e-commerce without the commitment to expensive site extensions and annual charges. And in both cases there is the potential to benefit more from the 2.2 million hits we receive each year.

To become a Gateway producer, there is a set-up charge which covers the cost of creating the mini website and integrating it into the system. This cost depends very much on the number of products to be promoted.

There is an annual maintenance fee, currently £100. This is made of a contribution towards our costs in servicing the site, in meeting hosting fees, annual charges to WorldPay, and for Search Engine Optimisation. In addition it covers all our costs in effecting text and image changes to the Gateway as instructed by the producer.

Finally, for each sale effected through the website's credit card clearance system we charge 10% of the gross payment. Effectively half of this constitutes the credit card clearance charge and the other half our administration fee.

On a sale taking place, an email is generated to the producer who will despatch the goods. When the proceeds are paid into our account four weeks later we then account to the producer as soon as possible (usually within 48 hours) of notification.
