Town councillors put their backs and hearts into the Camborne Produce Market!

Tuesday, 1 November 2011

Once a month, when volunteers are needed to help set up for the Camborne produce market, Councillors Paul White and Stuart Odgers are always on hand to lend their support and help.

"Projects such as the Produce Market, to our mind, deserve support as they bring an alternative and hopefully a boost to not only the market, but other traders in Camborne,? says Stuart Odger, Councillor for Camborne South Ward.

?It is just brilliant that some of the town councillors are willing to get up early, face the elements and help to get the gazebos up for the market?, says Joanne Schofield, market controller.  ?It is a fairly demanding job, hauling the gazebos down to the Square and getting them up. Without their help, it would be impossible to get everything done for a 9 o?clock start.?

Another councillor, Mrs. Morwenna Williams, can often be seen serving refreshments and cakes at the Wesley Centre during the market.

?We always gladly support such initiatives, as we do with other issues, that in our mind go some way to improving the environment and prosperity of people that live in Camborne and surrounding area", says Paul White, Councillor for Camborne North Ward.
