With an official count of 43,000 the Cornwall Food and Drink Festival notched up another successful year in providing the City with a great three day event to give a welcome "shoulder" to the summer season. The spirit of collaboration and togetherness between producers, retailers, chefs and caterers produced a great atmospherefor a well organised display of the best of Cornwall. There was a seemingly continuous programme of entertaining cookery demonstrations from the county's top chefs and some interesting "fringe" events. The Funky Food Zone proved a great attraction to kids where the theme of Harvest gave hands on opportunities for apple pressing, corn grinding, and harvest loaf plaiting. The Young Chef's Challenge final was won by St Day Primary School.
