Cornish Restaurants Support Christmas Homeless Appeal
Wednesday, 17 November 2010
Street Smart is a campaign to help keep people from sleeping on the streets, and this Christmas restaurants around Cornwall are raising money for Cornish homeless charities St Petroc's Society and the Cornwall Women's Refuge Trust. Funds are raised by the restaurants adding an optional £1 to diners' bills during November and December. Last year £6000 was raised and this year's target is £10,000.
Restaurants which have already signed up include Blue Bar at Porttowan, Bustophers in Truro, The Golden Lion at Menherion, Gylly Beach Cafe at Falmouth, Nathan Outlaw's Seafood and Grill at Rock, Stein's Cornish arms in Padstow, and Trevaskis Farm near Hayle. Several of these are reviewed in our "Eating Out" pages.
