We were delighted, but hardly surprised, that our very own local The Golden Lion at Menherion was acclaimed Pub of the Year at the 2008 Cornwall Tourism Awards. Landlords John and Wendy Glosby received the coveted title and trophy at Newquay's Headland Hotel ceremony. As well as developing and extending an excellent restaurant at the pub which sits overlooking Stithians lake, they have also created gardens which have been award winners in their own right and a popular touring caravan and camping pitch. All that and St Austell "Tribute" on draught as well!!
