Ninemaidens' range of quality meads is carefully made with the finest honey. Our hives are situated across West Cornwall: from the verdant farmland around Truro, across the aromatic heathland of Kerrier and down to the sheltered meadows of southern Penwith. The key to good mead is good honey, and the key to good honey is good bee keeping. Ninemaidens ensures both! We believe that our highly acclaimed, award-winning meads are an excellent choice for the discerning wine drinker, whatever the occasion.
Experience Our Meads, Honey and Honey Products
The very same honey which gives our meads their distinctive multi-floral character is available either clear or set. Harvested from our own hives in Cornwall: from St Germoe to St Allen, with several of our apiaries located on organically managed land. The range of products has recently been expanded to include a luxurious Wholegrain Honey Mustard with a substantial honey content and well balanced taste.

Products
Apple Mead
Inspired by the ancient drink of Cyser and made from the double fermentation of selected local apple juices and honey. A medium dry mead at 12.5% ABV.
Blackcurrant Mead
Full fruit flavour balanced by honey mead: an excellent summer drink.

Gwires
Gwires is a crystal clear, vibrant spirit with a floral, honeyed bouquet and a warm rounded finish. 40% alcohol by volume. The name "Gwires" (pronounced gwi'rez) is taken from the Cornish word meaning alcoholic spirit, and it is produced by distilling the highest quality mead.
Kea Plum Mead
Kea Plums are uniqely Cornish: a small plum similar to a damson, they are too sharp to eat fresh and are traditionally used for jam making. They provide an excellent blend to sweet honeyed mead.
Redcurrant Mead
Redcurrant mead has a tart fruit taste yet still captures the full floral/honey bouquet. Excellent with tall glasses full of ice in summer or mixed with chilled champagne. 12.5% ABV.
