The innovation and quality of Cornish food producers was well reflected in the Cornwall Food and Farming Awards presented at the Royal Cornwall Show by leading Cornish food retailer and food economist Ruth Huxley. The award for Best New Product was won by Whalesborough Cheese for their outstanding Nanny Muffet goats’ cheese. There were joint runners-up in this category: Cornish Country Cordials for root ginger in Cornish honey syrup and to Resugga Farm for their beef burgers from home bred Ruby Red cattle. Best Exhibit at the Show went to Vicky’s Bread with Kings Orchard as runner up. The award for the best Farmer-Producer went to Kings Orchard for their vibrant and knowledgeable display of honey products and bee farming. The runner-up here was Cornish Duck. The final award was for Best New Exhibitor which went to Resugga Farm. Langley’s Rocky Road was runner-up here.
