Cornish Farmhouse Bacon Company

Bacon, ham, and sausages produced by the Cornish Farmhouse Bacon Company from Large White x Landrace pigs reared on their Cornish farm or those of a neighbour. West Balsdon Farm pigs are fed home grown cereals: stress is minimal as there is a combined on farm abattoir and processing plant.

Ham

Traditional hams have no added water and are cooked on the premises using a steam cooker. They are available on or off the bone smoked or unsmoked.

Bacon

Cornish Farmhouse Bacon Company use a method called ‘Wiltshire Curing’ to cure our bacon. This is a method using brine. They produce back bacon, middle bacon and streaky bacon which can come either green (unsmoked) or smoked.

Pork

All their pigs are feed on home grown cereals. The Pigs are slaughtered at approx 26 weeks of age. As most of their pigs are reared on site they only have to be transported a few hundred yards to the abattoir meaning that stress of transportation for the pig is brought down to a minimum therefore the quality of the meat is of a maximum.
