Fowey Valley Cider

Fowey Valley Cider is a small scale cider producer employing long standing traditions and expertise in crafting its premium cider.

Fowey Valley Castle Dore Cider

To create this award-winning cider, the apples are milled into small pieces and this ‘pomace’ then pressed About 65% of this is the juice to which is add yeast and put under an airlock for about a year to slowly ferment. The resulting cider is a wonderfully refreshing, medium dry and lightly carbonated. It’s exceptionally clean on the palate, very well balanced, and low tannin, with a beautiful straw colour. ABV 6.5%.

Fowey Valley Sparkling Vintage Cider

Fowey Valley’s Sparkling Vintage Cider is made with a high proportion of dessert apples in the mix to give it that delicious ‘méthode traditionelle’ taste. No sulphites or other preservatives are used. The apples are just pressed, then fermented twice: first in the barrel for a year; then a second year’s fermentation in the bottle. The cider is then disgorged in the champagne style and aged further before release.  It is the secondary fermentation that gives the cider its wonderful bubbly effervescence; a method invented in the West Country for fine cider making around 1600, well before it was used in France for Champagne.

Fowey Gin

Award-winning Foy Gin is made from alcohol distilled five times, with lots of juniper, a mid-layer of four citruses and just a hint of fragrant spice underneath. ABV of 40%.

Fowey Valley Vodka

A superbly smooth vodka which is distilled in small batches, on a column still and is wonderfully silky with hints of vanilla, caramel and fennel. ABV of 40%.

product-shots-fowey3Fowey Valley Extra Virgin Olive Oil

To complement their cider vinegar Fowey Valley import and bottle extra virgin olive oil from southwest Sicily.  The Nocellara del Belice olives are grown in the Belice Valley  near the town of Castelvetrano. This variety is characterised by its bright green colour and its large, plump size; each olive weighs from 6 to 8 grams.

The oil has aromas of citrus fruits and pepper. It is lightly spicy, extraordinarily fruity, silky and light with notes of artichokes, green apple, tomatoes and delicate young green almond. The finish is wonderfully fresh.

Oak Aged Cider Spirit

The cider equivalent to a brandy, the Cider Spirit is twice distilled from Fowey Valley vintage cider up to 65% ABV. It’s then laid down in new, small, medium toasted, European Oak barrels for more than two years. The resulting spirit is deep amber in colour with spicy fruit and oak on the nose. On the palate are nuts, molasses and raisins with a hint of liquorice, pepper and clove. It has a lovely long finish. ABV of 40%.
