Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm

From pressing the fruit for their first ever cyder to dreaming up their unique Classic Whiskey, Healey’s is about more than just apples.

In 1986 Healey’s set out to resurrect the largely forgotten art of cyder-making in Cornwall. They wanted to use the county’s wonderful produce to craft a quality cyder that everyone would love. So they bought a 150-year-old farm. And a 16th century press. They planted orchards, renovated barns and grew to become the Healey’s of today – with award-winning cyders, spirits, juices and jams to their name.

They’ve become the largest cyder-maker in Cornwall and the first distillery for 300 years.

Rattler Cyder

Healey’s Rattler is a range of cloudy cyders perfect for enjoying chilled on a sunny Cornish beach. Original Rattler is a punchy 6% ABV or there are lighter versions at 4% ABV as apple cyder, berry cyder, pear cyder, mulled cyder, and more recently Strawberry and Lime. No and low alcohol versions also available.

Rattler is also available in 330ml cans with a 4.8% ABV.

Cornish Gold Cyder

An easy drinking sparkling cider with a crisp light taste. 4.5% ABV. There is also an Oak Matured version at 6.2% ABV.

Cornish Scrumpy

Original Cornish Scrumpy, pressed, fermented and blended on the farm. A traditionally presented flagon of still cider and available as medium sweet or medium dry in an array of different sizes from 40ml to 2 litres. 7.4% ABV.

Healey’s Classic Oak Matured

Distinctive, full-bodied and supremely refreshing, Healey’s oak-matured Classic Cyder is perfect served chilled and shared with friends. A well-balanced medium cyder, it owes its sweetness and beautiful lingering finish to the hints of oak and tropical fruit running through it. 6.2% ABV.

Spirit of Cornwall

An Eau De Vie distilled from Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm’s fruit ciders and blended with the farm’s spring water. 25% alcohol by volume. For the best results ‘mix with 6 parts apple juice, pour it over ice and just watch the sunset…’

Apple Brandy

A well received cyder apple brandy matured in oak barrels for 3 years. 40% ABV.

Classic Whiskey

The culmination of an idea forged from the perfect partnership of expertise in brewing and innovation in distillation between Healey’s and St Austell Brewery, this single malt Classic English Whiskey is a rare and sought-after spirit. Spice, honey and barley notes unite with hints of cocoa, caramel and delicate fruits, all rounded off with smooth vanilla. A true taste of excellence. 42.5% ABV.

Country Wines

A range of traditional slightly sparkling country wines including elderflower, strawberry, and summer fruits: typically 5% ABV.

Fruit Juices

Apples freshly pressed on the farm from fruit currently in season;

Under the ‘Avalade’ branding, sparkling apple juice; elderflower; cloudy lemonade; rose lemonade; and ginger beer.  All with no artificial colourings, or flavourings.

Jam

A wide range of country jams and preserves using a high proportion of fruit to sugar and qualifying for the Extra Jam designation. Over 20 varieties are prepared in traditional open kettles. The fruit used is from Cornish Cyder’s own orchards or sourced locally wherever possible.

Chutney

A wide range of country chutnies made using traditional open copper pans at the farm. Local seasonal vegetables used wherever possible.

Marmalade

A variety of marmalades prepared on the farm in traditional open kettles.
