From their first vine harvest in 2006, John and Kim Coulson created the first Polgoon wine and were subsequently awarded the Trophy for “Best Still Rose in the UK”. This trophy was awarded by the UK Vintners Association, judged by 7 Masters of Wine and sponsored by Waitrose. Since then they’ve developed a sought after range of wine, ciders and fruit drinks.
The farm shop is open 6 days a week and during the summer is open on Sunday too. The shop features a range of local produce as well as Polgoon products. It is open from 09:00 to 17:30 Monday – Saturday and 10:30 to 16:00 on Sundays.

2012 Polgoon Sparkling White Wine
This premium sparkling white wine is made using a blend of Orion, Pinot Noir and Seyval Blanc grapes. Our sparkling wines are produced in the traditional method of secondary fermentation in the bottle. This creates a natural mousse which enhances the fruit and releases lemony citrus tones and a generous creamy texture. ABV 10.5%
Seyval Blanc Sparkling White 2013
A single variety sparkling white suggesting green pear followed by delicate citrus notes and a good balance of acidity. Crisp and lively on the palate with a persistent mousse. Perfect for celebrations, seafood, charcuterie and canapes. ABV 11.5%. Highly Commended from South West Vineyards Association.
A Methodé Traditionelle sparkling rosé wine with a deep rich pink colour. The fruit forward nose of the Pinot Noir gives way to the ripe berry flavours of the Rondo. Well balanced and delicious, with a lively mousse of fine bubbles, with raspberries and strawberries on the palate, finishing dry & crisp. Pinot Noir Sparkling Rose 2013
A single variety, single estate sparkling rose with a rich pink colour and a golden hue to provide a nose of zesty citrus and toasted crumb. The wine has a delicate palate with hints of tangerine, honey and spice. Matches well with light and not too spicy dishes, sushi, salads and raw oysters. ABV 11.5%. Bronze Award from South West Vineyards Association.
Sparkling Aval Raspberry
A Methodé Traditionelle Aval made with West Country apples to produce a unique and sparkling cider, then infused with pure raspberry juice.
Wonderful light pink colour, with a lively and persistent mousse of bubbles. Raspberries on the nose melt into a crisp yet delicate apple flavour with a medium dry finish. ABV 7%
River Cottage Sparkling Elderflower Wine
This is a handcrafted artisan product that takes time to create.
Polgoon have been producing this product for River Cottage for 4 years now. ABV 10.5%
Polgoon Sparkling Aval
Made from selected West Country apples to produce a light, dry Sparkling Apple Wine. The Methodé Traditionelle (involving in-bottle secondary fermentation as used by Champagne producers) is then applied, ultimately yielding a refined sparkling cider of class and distinction. A modern classic. ABV 7%
Bacchus 2014 Dry White
Following in the footsteps of Polgoon’s previous award winning Bacchus wines, their 2014 release is a light floral wine with a hint of citrus and green grass. This delicate white wine is perfect for drinking with any of the abundant produce Cornwall has to offer, especially good with cheese. ABV 10%
Seyval Blanc & Ortega 2014 Dry White
A light, refreshing white wine made in Cornwall from grapes grown at Polgoon Vineyard. A blend of two grapes, the Ortega grapes brings a smoothness and floral not to the citrus element of our Seyval Blanc grape. Serve this delicate wine with Cornish produce or enjoy with friends in the Cornish sunshine! ABV 10%
Madeleine Angevine White 2014
A single variety white wine, the nose suggests crisp pear and young grass flavours with a delicate palate of green apple balanced by a cool acidity. A perfect match for Cornish seafood. ABV 11%.

Rondo and Pinot Noir Red Wine
New Polgoon Red Wine 2013 A smooth well-balanced red, wine made from Rondo and Pinot Noir grapes grown at Polgoon’s award winning vineyard. With cherry notes on the nose and rich, ripe berry fruits on the palate, this wine is an ideal accompaniment to Cornish Charcuterie or pasta dishes. ABV 11.5%
Rondo – Pinot Noir Rose 2014
A single estate medium dry rose with a vibrant pink colour and an aroma of fresh Cornish strawberries, producing an abundance of full ripe summer fruits to the palate with a finish lengthened by a crisp fruit acidity. Ideal for serving on its own or with local crab and lobster or delicate meats such as duck or lamb. ABV 11.5%.
