St Ives Cider is a Cornish family business owned by David and Kate Berwick.

David combines his experience as a winemaker with traditional cider techniques to produce a range of hand-crafted artisan ciders. Kate runs the office side of things and taste tests new ciders as they are developed.

As with all small businesses, everyone does a bit of everything at some point.

Clodgy

A traditional, dry, still Farmhouse style cider. The only difference is St Ives Cider  use a small amount of dessert apple juice in the blend to lower the acidity and make a slightly smoother flavour.

You will find some sediment will drop to the bottom of the bottle if stored. This is completely natural and can be poured off gently or shaken before serving to give a yeastier taste. ABV 6.5%

Forager

A lightly sparkling, filtered cider, CAMRA Silver award 2019. ABV 4.5%

Montol

A mulled cider, spiced and sweetened. ABV 4%.

    1. Hi. We’re just a listing website, so to get a full answer you should contact david@stivescider.co.uk. As someone with type 2 diabetes I try to have no more than 4 units of alcohol in any one session (2 pints) and no more than 6 units a week. Diabetes UK says 14 units a week (a pint a day) is OK but go easy. They also suggest a pint of water before you go to bed to maintain hydration. It seems reasonable to assume that any alcohol intake will affect blood sugar level to some degree. Enjoy life but take care!
